You get what you pay for

So at the gym there are TVs, of course. I like to watch while I plod along on the treadmill. Usually Mtv is on, which I otherwise never watch, but without sound, it is mildly amusing.

So, every so often, commercials come on sponsored by the gym. The ads are usually about some kind of trip they are organizing. So for a while I have been seeing ads for some kind of trip where you parachute out of planes, then have a dance party at night. I am not sure if the trip passed already, or they decided to show footage from previous years. The ad goes something like this (ok - I have my ipod on, so I dont actually hear any sound).

You see pictures of young adults taking some sort of class, putting on the crazy leather fighter pilot looking helmets, they are all laughing, smiling, putting on their gear, etc.

Jump to photos of people inside the plane. Sitting on benches inside a tin can looking prop plane. Still smiling nervously. Picture of 2 trainer guys looking out the open door.

Jump to video of people jumping out of the plane. boom boom boom boom boom, 5 guys jump out one after the other, there is a pause, next group up - boom, boom, two people jump out, one after the other,

but wait

whats this?

third person doesnt want to jump, she shakes her head no - they pull her toward the open plane door,

no! she shakes her head vigorously, trying to break free from the men

like a cat being forced into a tub, she braces her hands and feet across the door frame

she resists with all she's got!

no! I dont want to jump!

there is a struggle

(I glance around - does anyone else see this?)

The two men grab her and throw her off the plane!

boom boom, the next 2 jump.

Cut to photos of people smiling on the ground.

cut to photos of the young people dancing at a disco.

video of some girl dancing.

fade out.

the video of the girl (ok, I say girl because it is a person with a slight frame - I am making an assumption - maybe it is a petit man) is quick - maybe 3 or 4 seconds.

even after seeing it 3 or 4 times, I still wasn't sure what I saw.

I ask Leo - you know those ads they play on the TVs in the cardio room?

he says - yeah, did you see the one where they throw the girl off the plane?

I guess they make sure you get what you pay for.
